A. graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Delaware in 1979. She received her master’s in nursing at Arizona State University (ASU) in 1991 and then went on to complete the post master’s pediatric nurse practitioner program at ASU in 1998. Before coming to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, A. worked as a staff nurse on the surgical unit at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago. A. has served in many different capacities during her career at PCH. Her roles have included clinical staff nurse, nursing instructor, oncology nurse clinician, and oncology clinical nurse specialist. She has also worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner for the pediatric bone marrow transplant program at City of Hope in Phoenix. Currently, A. serves as the inpatient nurse practitioner in pediatric hematology/oncology. Active in the nursing profession, A. has served as president of the Arizona chapter of the Association for Pediatric Oncology Nurses (APON), has given several presentations at APON national conferences, and has been published in the Journal of Pediatric Oncology Nurses. She is a member of the Association of Pediatric Oncology Nurses and the Oncology Nurse Society.
