Dr. Wood received his bachelor of science in zoology followed by his medical degree, both from the University of Wisconsin. Following residency training in Phoenix, Dr. Wood completed his fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at Stanford University in 1978. From 1978-1982, Dr. Wood worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, where he served as the director of the Hemophilia Treatment Center, associate director of pediatric education, and a consultant and attending in pediatric hematology/oncology. Since joining PCH in 1982, Dr. Wood has served on the teaching faculty and as a consultant and attending for pediatric hematology/oncology. In addition to being an active member and participant in the Children’s Oncology Group, Dr. Wood is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, the Maricopa County (Arizona) Pediatric Society, the Arizona Pediatric Society, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics
